The MagiCore Structure

Reasons for Bone Checking Before Drilling

IBS Implant’s MAGIC FIN THREAD cuts through the bone around the osteotomy like a blade, using threads that are 0.1mm thin and rectangular in shape. This process of placement by cutting through the bone is called “self-threading”.

Consequently, the threads are influenced by the quality of the bone.

As seen above, the depth of bone that the MAGIC FIN THREAD cuts through decreases with increasing bone density. Thus, the diameter of the osteotomy must be increased with increasing bone density.

Bone checking must be performed to confirm bone quality, and the proper drill size must be used.

THE MAGIC FIN THREAD

  • Easy placement  – Self threading
  • More favorable for immediate / early loading – No shearing force
  • More powerful and accurate force transfer due to better stress distribution
  • Minimal chance for micro-fracture  – Generates minimal difference in the strengths and the elastic force of thread and bone
  • Primary bone healing – No bone chipping or bone condensation

A NEW INNOVATION

  • Placement possible without graft, even in narrow bone width
  • Use of relatively shorter implants for clinical ease
  • Fast bone healing without decline in initial stability
  • Definite initial stability regardless of bone quality
  • Optimal periodontal stability and maintenance
  • Versatile prosthetic variations that match with diverse clinical situations

IMPLANT CUFF

Minimal post height and variable cuff height allows for adjustable placement depth according to soft tissue thickness

(Cuff height : 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm)

    CORE CONNECTION

Extreme abutment angulations made stable through core connection designs

      GREATER SURFACE AREA

Strong adhesion with cemented restorations due to greater surface area of connection

      BETTER STRESS DISTRIBUTION

Strength of 1-body structure allows for shorter implants in areas of limited bone and anatomical structures

      TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

      Anterior Portion & 1st Premolar : Ø 4.0mm, length 7mm

      Mandible 2nd  Premolar : Ø 4.5mm, length 7mm → Ø 4.0mm, length 9mm

      Maxilla 2nd  Premolar : Ø 5.0mm, length 7mm→ Ø 4.5mm, length 9mm → Ø 4.0mm, length 11mm

      Mandible Molar : Ø 5.0 mm, length 7mm→ Ø 4.5mm, length 9mm → Ø 4.0mm, length 11mm

      Maxilla Molar : Ø 5.5 mm, length 7mm→ Ø 5.0mm, length 9mm → Ø 4.5mm, length 11mm

Red indicates optimal selection for areas with plenty bone width and inadequate bone height

Blue indicates optimal selection for areas with narrow bone width and adequate bone height

Conventionally, possibility of implant fracture increases when an implant with less than 4.5mm diameter is used in the molar area for extended periods.

However, the MagiCore implant has the strength of a one-body implant, therefore a size as small as Ø4.0 diameter can be used safely and effectively.

Drill Selection According to Fixture Size and Bone Quality

      SEE CHART BELOW.

Before drilling, the Magic Split (MS) must be used to determine bone quality.

The Magic Depth Drill (MDD) must be used to check the depth and floor of placement hole.

In the case that the prosthetic margin is subgingival, the Healing Cap must be used, and impression taken afterwards. For impression coping, use the Plastic Impression Cap.

Case 1: When the Crown vertical dimension is short OR there is an extreme angulation of the crown:

      Burn-Out  Core Abutment is used

→ Core Crown Production can be produced into Cemented Type Cap or Screw Retained Type Cylinder.

Burn out core Abutment has both Cemented Type and Screw Retained Type, each with Hex or Non-Hex.

Case 2: When Aesthetic Treatment is Needed:

      Burn-Out Core Cylinder is used.

→ After making a Customized Core Abutment with Porcelain Treated Cuff, a hollow crown is fabricated.

      Case 3: Normal Crown Fabrication

      MagiCore specific Abutment is used.

→ Conventional Hollow Crown is fabricated

→ The Crown’s Margin rests on the Magicore implant itself, therefore abutment fracture and screw-loosening does not occur.

      1) One Piece Type

      2) Two Piece Type

Case 4: When Zirconia restoration is Preferred

      MagiCore Ti-Base(link) is used.

→ The MagiCore Scanbody is used,

Library Program is provided by 3-Shape and Exocad
